10 04 2018 Trevor in Frankston – House alarm going off, neighbours away – On Air with Jon Faine

Trevor:
Morning Jon. It’s possible that it could be a fire alarm. I’m actually a firefighter. It could be a fire alarm, not a burglar alarm. If it’s a fire alarm, ring the fire brigade. They will go if it’s a fire alarm they’ll get into the place and disable it.

Jon:
Okay so even if you’re not sure what it is if you tell the fire brigade.

Trevor:
We get calls like that all the time for alarm operating and 90% of the time they turn out to be faulty fire alarms.

Jon:
And the fire brigade is authorised to enter, aren’t you?

Trevor:
We’ve got rights of entry under the Act.

Jon:
Yeah, yeah so fire brigade can enter the property, sort out whatever the alarm issue is and then seal it up again.

Trevor:
Yep.

Jon:
Trevor, thank you.

DW:
Thank you for that, Trevor. I’m glad I don’t live in Eltham, for that reason.

Jon:
Lateral thinking, absolutely.

My husband died 21 years ago. We held the property as joint proprietors for our life, then it went to tenants in common upon the death of my husband and I have a life tenancy over his share.

I’m just calling regarding denial of access. I have been refused, for myself and my telecommunications technician to check the integrity of a phone line or phone cord, that services landline and internet, and that runs on the side of a brick wall that is situated on a property line.

I’m really ringing up on behalf of my son who bought an inner city property three to four years ago. He’s had plans approved for an extension and in the process, he’s had the land surveyor come out.
