Lisa Whiting

Lisa works primarily in corporate law, property, wills and estates, and banking and financial services regulation.

She likes to work closely with her clients to understand their key drivers and look for a solution to their issues.

Before joining Whiting Lawyers in 2021, Lisa spent four years working at Herbert Smith Freehills in the Financial Services Regulation team. Her role involved advising banks, lenders and fintechs on anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing law, payment systems regulation, consumer credit, financial services licensing and Australian consumer law.

Lisa has also held in-house legal and compliance positions at major Australian companies.

Her career achievement to date is partnering with a Big 4 bank to re-write its credit card terms and conditions into plain English.

Lisa has a keen interest in sport. She plays hockey, supports the Bombers and the Melbourne Vixens, and was a board member of Essendon Hockey from 2017-2020.

Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in History and Chinese) and Juris Doctor from the University of Melbourne. She was admitted to practice in 2017.
